Guest post of Poetry

An other great post has been sent in by Jane Love (almost wrote Jane Eyre, but she is not that old classic of course 🙂 ). Enjoy!

Heart Pangs

From dusk to dawn…
From stretches to yawn –
Thoughts of you race through my mind.
The very moment I sleep,
Your beautiful face starts to creep
Into a dream that I frequently find
Myself in.
For every night in it, you ride
On your way to meet me
At the church where all will see
My hands lift the veil off you, my bride.
As the priest spoke,
To focus and wait is what I tried.
But whenever I stared at you…
At your beauty – my patience broke.
When we kissed, all cried.
And those who minded were quite a few.
Now you know you’re a professional thief.
Because every night you steal my dreams
Only to stay for a period that’s too brief.
Thus leaving me shedding streams
Upon my awakening.
All because you’re no longer here, my love.
You’ve gone too soon.

The sentence

I’ll save you from yourself
From those demons of the night
They promise fame and fortune
All that you eagerly desire.
I’ll save you from yourself
From those voices calling you
Sell your soul to evil
Then you’ll be dancing forever.

Credits: Eric LĂ©vi and his group ERA (Award: World Music Award for World’s Best Selling French Album)

Sentence is from the album ERA 2 from 2000. It is the 4th song out of 10 on this spectacular collection of works. Also, IMO, the last good, meaningful and quality work of the group before an inevitable downward-spiral.

I love the sunrise, and the moonlight too (fiction, piece #3)

‘You can come out and stand front of me, human’

That was surprising and completely unexpected. He started to talk, and obviously he knew about our presence.

‘You will not have harm upon you and your furred creature, human. Come front, please! We need to talk urgently’

One surprise after an other: starts to talk to us, felt our presence, talks in english, clearly, and doesn’t seem to seek hostile progress. Although, that last part isn’t sure yet, anyone could say anything. Also he could lie. I was weighing possibilities, chances.

‘I do not lie! We never do. I have an important message regarding this world of yours. There is no time to waste at all!’

Well, normally I would say, that clears up a lot. In such a situation however doubt doesn’t shrink so fast. Roxy was sitting now, looking at me and talking with her usual meows to me, with a face of peace and relax as usually she does. Her stress level went indeed down, obvious. She just tried to tell me something, like Bengal cats do very often. They are extremely talkative animals. Her fur isn’t standing, she is sitting and looking peacefully.

‘How could I be sure about?’ – was the first came out me. Roxy again with a meow to me, this time with a slight of complain-like voice. I looked back at her: ‘Of course, any better ideas?! No? Thought so.’

‘You and your furred friend are still alive, aren’t you?’

Damn good argument. Now what?!

Weekly(?) Poetry #7 – from favourites

Edgar Allan Poe

A dream within a dream

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow–
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand–
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep–while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

(Edgar Allan Poe)

Nominated already?!

When I started this place in January, I thought: ‘Hey, let’s write some! Get good busy, you like it anyway’. And of course if along the ride of typing sane and insane things out of this rather large bucket on my neck, there would be ‘some’ readers of it, well done then, nice. Lovely extra, could one say.

And fortunately those two points I nailed. We keep writing, while more and more of you keep reading (kudos for that, I don’t know if I would, he he) here. All these, much to my delight. But end of April and today I got surprised by two other bloggers and my subscribed readers: two different award nominations in two and a half weeks! Roda from Growing Self and Lexie from Everything and Anything nominated me for those. Such sweetness!

I am extremely honoured, and I truly and wholeheartedly appreciate the wonderful, positive attention and extra motivation! Thank you for this much love for my blog site, my works (fun), and thanks for being connected to me and for the chatters from time to time! Awesome.

And appreciation goes to my readers, subscribers as well, for your generosity with your time you spend visiting and commenting here, sharing and caring: Thank You all! Every single one of you, as you are all important part of this ever growing space.

Weekly Poetry, #6 – Truly at Home

Even the Sun is more tired than I am, nowadays,

Standing up early and smiling with pride in her face.

Oh, the grace!

Don’t blame her, she’s old enough you know,

I’m just an excited young, a liberated fellow.

Free in nature, at a peaceful harbor.

Fresh air, free view and beautiful silence,

Cutting path of peace through all my senses.

Feels truly at Home!

Our young cat silently and just half awake

Creeping behind my back, the cute little snake.

Looking up thankful and sweet.

They arrived to home, as we did.
